Sponsorship

I don’t think I have mentioned sponsorship before. As you may know, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere and school isn’t something that everyone gets the opportunity to go through. Some parents can afford to send their students here, but others struggle immensely with their finances. Not only is it difficult to pay for school, but also for common things such as food and clothing. When students cannot pay, they aren’t kicked out of school. The point of sponsorship is to ensure that if a family falls behind with their resources that we will be able to afford to keep them. Some of our students are in terrible situations. We have two students that I recently learned do not have parents. It is just the two of them living in a house together. I asked someone what their source of income is and they said, “There isn’t.”. I just noticed this week that one of these students had worn the same shirt over and over. I only knew that they had the same shirt on because it had a small tear in it. I am going to try to find out what size shirt she wears so if anyone would like to buy a couple white dress shirts for her, please let me know. I will probably go shopping with one of my sisters to see what I can find, but I know she would be grateful to have a few new shirts. If you are interested, please email me. You can find my email in my contact/profile section.

Regarding sponsorship, if you are interested please email me. We usually try to get sponsors early while they are still in preschool, but there might also be students who are in higher grades who may not currently have a sponsor. Thank you for your compassion!
