Tuesday was the last day of school this week. We have Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off this week because of Thanksgiving. It was a fairly short day today. I had class as normal today except for the 6th graders. I didn't give them a speed drill today but started off by passing back some of their graded homework and went over questions they had. After that, Anne Regine asked me why I don't play games with them. So, I had someone go upstairs to my classroom and get a stack of photocopied Sudoku puzzles for me. Most of them had never played, so we started off with easier puzzles that only had four and six squares and then moved up to the puzzles with nine squares per section. They all seemed to enjoy it and picked up on it quickly.
Later in the day, I came home and was hanging out with a friend who teaches French to the 6th grade and he said that they all asked him why he doesn't play games either. It looks like they were itching for games today. Since it was the last day of class before the break I felt that we should play games, especially since it is 6th grade.
