School Dogs

We have several school dogs that stay in the school yard. They are primarily here for security. Somehow they seem to know who is allowed in the school yard and who isn't. Out of all the students, they know if someone comes in who shouldn't be. It is known to everyone to stay out and to wait at the gate in case you need something.

Recently, one of the female dogs had puppies. There are only two and one is a boy and the other is a girl. They are quite funny because at first they were very scared since they don't have much interaction with people that much. The first day I tried to play with them they were timid but couldn't resist crawling out from under a broken down trailer hitch that is in the back. When I first saw them, they were barely taller than the somewhat un-mowed grass. They would try to run/hop through the grass and bat at each other with their little paws.

After a few days of seeing them, they are starting to become more playful. As I walk backward to take their picture, they run after me chasing at my feet and biting my sandals and feet. They are still at the age where they often tumble over themselves when they run. They are really funny. I think the girl (the smaller grayish puppy in the picture below) is going to be adopted by a missionary family here. The boy might be given away to a student's family if no one takes him. Here are some pictures of them.
