Today seemed to go by pretty quickly. At the end of the day I went back to my class to do some preparing for the upcoming week as I normally do. This day was a little different because a little after Bedya, Dorothy and Nephtalie showed up for typing lessons, Jeffney also walked in since he had been passing by. Jeffney is also in my advanced math class. Once he showed up, we all started talking and we shared what we enjoy most about Haiti and I asked them what they want to do when they graduate. Nephtalie said that she enjoys not having taxes or bills. I laughed a little because who does when they are in high school? When I asking them what they wanted to do once they graduate, Jeffney said that he would like to be a mechanic. Who knows what he will end up doing, because though he may do well at being one, he is one of the best students in the junior class. He is very intelligent. When I asked Bedya what she wanted to do, she said that she would like to be a business woman. She said that Haiti needs more factories and she would like to start some, especially in Port-de-Paix.
It is great having some time where you can share ideas with the students and find out what would like to do. It is impressive to hear some of them speak about their country with such maturity that it inspires me to teach more and more.
