I spent most of my day today hanging out with Scott, Lindsay and the boys since I had not seen them for a while. It was good to talk to them about things that have been going on here and what it was like when they were here. It was also interesting to find out that a lot of the students that I am teaching were students they had taught when they were here teaching 3rd and 4th grade.

Later this evening, I was invited to a dinner with them over at Roger and Norma’s. Normally, the missionaries only get lunch on school days. We are on our own for breakfast and dinner. It was a treat to be able to have dinner with them, especially when they were having steak that Scott and Lindsay had brought in. It was incredibly good. I am not saying that only because you cannot get steak here, but it truly was great steak! Norma also had baked potatoes. For our salad, we had arugula that I had grown, mixed with pecans, mandarin oranges, and a little sugar sprinkled on the pecans. It was a great night not only to sit with a bunch of friends, but to have a great dinner as well.

You grow arugula? In Haiti? At the white house? I left one year too soon!
