Classes were pretty easy today since I gave two tests. I like test day because I don’t have to do as much planning the night before and I have a little time in class to plan for the next day. Since I was able to get some planning done ahead of time, I knew I would have a little extra time after school so I could begin tutoring Lindsay from the 6th grade. My plan is to just go through all of the lessons beginning with lesson 1 to get her caught up. I noticed that she just needed a little clarification on some of the terminology with some of the material from the first couple of lessons. Not much after this and I found out that she really needs to spend some time working on her multiplication. Well, after about 45 minutes I told her that I should get going as I don’t want to show her too much in one day. After the lessons I went over to the “work room” which is where we store all of our extra school supplies and found some multiplication flash cards. I will plan on meeting with her again this Thursday so she can improve her speed. After she gets this down I feel like I will see an improvement in her homework and quizzes and then I can work with her on polishing up the remaining lessons that she missed before she was transferred to Sonlight.
