This morning was a little sad as Scott, Lindsay and their boys were leaving. I got up at 5:00AM to see them before they left. We sat around and had a little breakfast as the sun came up. It wasn’t but 5:30AM and they were on their way to the airport for a long trip home.
After breakfast I went back home and got ready for classes. I found out that it isn’t really all that hard to get ready for school when you don’t have electricity. It just takes a little longer. Also, I feel like I am getting fairly efficient without electricity. I am able to take a shower with only five large cups of water. That may sound inadequate, but I use about one to get my hair wet and to lather up with soap, and the other four to get all the soap rinsed off.
After all of this, I went to school which is my first time teaching without electricity. I found out that it wasn’t any more difficult. The room is bright enough so the only thing that I don’t have on are the two ceiling fans. Fortunately for me, I am in a room where I get a really nice breeze all day long. It does get a little warm, but the sun never really shines in my room since there is an Almond tree growing beside my windows which gives us shade in the morning!
